Woke up early this morning and the pre-dawn skies were spectacular. But as dawn approached I couldn’t help but find that it was a little … underwhelming. Mind you, by the end of the day the sunset redeemed the day somewhat.

It’s a day of lovely wispy clouds today, but unusually these are almost perfectly straight lines, which I have never seen before. With the sun behind such a hazy sky, it was almost inevitable that there was also a large halo around the sun, which was quite spectacular.
