Mid-week Monochrome, #126, 19 April 2023

I don’t often have the opportunity to participate in the Mid-week Monochrome challenge but today I was out with the Gameboy and came across this wonderful lonely tree that was just begging for some infrared loving. Taken with a Samsung A70 smartphone and a Hoya 720nm Infrared filter.

A trip through the woods, 23 August 2022

After weeks of cloudless skies, this morning we awoke to a sky full of wispy cirrus clouds. It was the perfect weather to take out the full spectrum Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 and the Urth 720nm Infrared filter, on our daily walk to the beach. http://keithdevereux.blogspot.com/2022/08/a-trip-through-woods-23-august-2022.html

Street photography in the only street in Fetais, 23 August 2022

A recent Twitter poll was asking about street photography, which encouraged me to get out in Fetais with the full-spectrum Lumix  and the Urth IR filter. Now, where’s that street again? http://keithdevereux.blogspot.com/2022/08/street-photography-in-only-street-in.html

Went a little full-spectrum crazy today, 12 August 2022

Out early in Meco this morning for some IR with the modified Lumix  and the Urth IR filter. However, I decided to dispense with the filter and just go ‘commando’. These full-spectrum shots came out really nice. I think I need to fiddle with the colour channels to get more of an ‘aerochrome’ look (andContinue reading “Went a little full-spectrum crazy today, 12 August 2022”

When a plan doesn’t quite come together, 08 August 2022

After a mixed start the sun came out and I took the chance to pop out to revisit a few places in Fetais near Meco with the full-spectrum Lumix  and the Urth IR filter. Unfortunately, as soon as I went out the clouds rolled in leaving a hazy and  cloudy day. Still, I persisted andContinue reading “When a plan doesn’t quite come together, 08 August 2022”

Hidden from the world, 07 August 2022

Tucked away half way up the cliff we traverse to get to the beach, and camouflaged against potential threats and also it’s prey, is this magnificent beast. I have no idea what species it is, but isn’t it wonderful? Every day for the past week and a half, at least, I’ve been trying to getContinue reading “Hidden from the world, 07 August 2022”

A foggy start to the day, 1 August 2022

After a glorious week, we woke up Monday morning to a really thick fog. The area around Meco exists as a microclimate, and while the rest of the country was basking (!?) in up to 40°C heat here it did not get much over the mid twenties Celsius. However, it was a grand opportunity toContinue reading “A foggy start to the day, 1 August 2022”

Finally the wind died down, 30 July 2022

After a few frustrating days, the wind died down and my plan to take the full spectrum Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 and the Urth 720nm Infrared filter to the beach was a possibility.  Thankfully, the early afternoon sun made the trees glow in the sunlight and the photographs of our walk to the beach exceeded myContinue reading “Finally the wind died down, 30 July 2022”

Late afternoon in the woods, 26 July 2022

The original plan was to take the full spectrum Lumix and the Urth 720nm Infrared filter to the beach, but it was so windy I didn’t want to take any risks with the camera, I’ve already cleaned out one large grain of sand from the sensor and I didn’t want to go through that experienceContinue reading “Late afternoon in the woods, 26 July 2022”

Ferias 2022: Day 0, 25 July 2022

We’re off on our annual pilgrimage to Meco. After a casual and uneventful journey we arrived at our holiday home before resting and heading out for a bite to eat at the best restaurant in Alfarim, the Tasca do Marcio. #coast, #coastline, #landscape, #bridhe, #nature, #old, #portugal, #portuguese, #sea, #lisboa, #street, #town, #traditional, #travel, #village,Continue reading “Ferias 2022: Day 0, 25 July 2022”
