The May 2023 #CameraChallenge: A Day in Aveiro

After several false starts I finally got to Aveiro last week for the May 2023 #CameraChallenge on Twitter. The previous day I had a plan and a camera to execute that plan, then at the last minute I changed my mind and went in a completely different direction. The theme for this month is architecture,Continue reading “The May 2023 #CameraChallenge: A Day in Aveiro”

The May 2023 #CameraChallenge: Architecture in Oiã

Since the results of the#CameraChallenge Will not be posted until next week, I thought it would be a good excuse to spend a bit of time recording the architecture of Oiã.  I headed to a few buildings around the railway station as I thought it would really benefit from the infrared treatment, particularly digital aerochromes,Continue reading “The May 2023 #CameraChallenge: Architecture in Oiã”

Three Cameras from 2022: My favourite experiences this year

With the encouragement of Stephen Dowling of Kosmo Photo, a group of camera bloggers were asked to write about three cameras they discovered in 2022 and what each one meant to them. Well, I thought, why should they have all the fun? So I came up with the three cameras that I most enjoyed usingContinue reading “Three Cameras from 2022: My favourite experiences this year”

A trip through the woods, 23 August 2022

After weeks of cloudless skies, this morning we awoke to a sky full of wispy cirrus clouds. It was the perfect weather to take out the full spectrum Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 and the Urth 720nm Infrared filter, on our daily walk to the beach. http://keithdevereux.blogspot.com/2022/08/a-trip-through-woods-23-august-2022.html

Finally the wind died down, 30 July 2022

After a few frustrating days, the wind died down and my plan to take the full spectrum Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 and the Urth 720nm Infrared filter to the beach was a possibility.  Thankfully, the early afternoon sun made the trees glow in the sunlight and the photographs of our walk to the beach exceeded myContinue reading “Finally the wind died down, 30 July 2022”

Late afternoon in the woods, 26 July 2022

The original plan was to take the full spectrum Lumix and the Urth 720nm Infrared filter to the beach, but it was so windy I didn’t want to take any risks with the camera, I’ve already cleaned out one large grain of sand from the sensor and I didn’t want to go through that experienceContinue reading “Late afternoon in the woods, 26 July 2022”

Stuck in a car park in Gaia, 20 June 2022

Waiting in a car park in Gaia. There was little else to do apart from bringing  out the Olympus Pen E-PL1 and the Lomography Experimental Lens Kit and the full spectrum Lumix DMC-TZ8 for some industrial infrared.

Conversion of a Panasonic DMC-TZ8 to full spectrum for infrared photography, 06 May 2022

This is my second full spectrum conversion for infrared photography. My first attempt, with a Canon Powershot A1400, was only partially successful in that I managed to remove the IR pass filter but it was a little clumsy and the resulting photographs were never quite in focus. No matter how hard I tried. Since gettingContinue reading “Conversion of a Panasonic DMC-TZ8 to full spectrum for infrared photography, 06 May 2022”
