It was a lovely day, and as I was out testing the Olympus Pen E-PL1 and Thingyfy Pinhole I stopped for a while for some smartphone infrared snaps with the Hoya 720nm Infrared filter.

Mid-week Monochrome, #126, 19 April 2023
I don’t often have the opportunity to participate in the Mid-week Monochrome challenge but today I was out with the Gameboy and came across this wonderful lonely tree that was just begging for some infrared loving. Taken with a Samsung A70 smartphone and a Hoya 720nm Infrared filter.
Digital infrared aerochromes with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8, 05 April 2023
Remember the tree from my infrared photowalk a couple of days ago? I promised myself that I would head out and see what it looked like as a digital aerochrome. It did not disappoint.
Abandoned structure in Oliveira do Bairro, 04 April 2023
The area around our local Lidl is one of my favourite spots to take photographs. Today I took out the 3€ Casio for some shots of the nearby abandoned building and the supermarket.
Some infrared photography with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8, 02 April 2023
It was a lovely day, so there’s no excuse not to take out the full-spectrum Lumix for some Infrared photography around Carris. Using the modified Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 and an Urth 720nm Infrared filter.
Some regular and glitchy photographs with the cheap Vivitar digital camera, 20 March 2023
I was out for a walk, so I took the Vivitar for some intentional camera movement and regular photography.
Digital infrared with the modded Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8, 03 January 2023
It was a lovely sunny day, for a change, so I just had to take out the full-spectrum Lumix DMC-TZ8.
New Year’s Eve panorama with the Sony Mavica MVC-FD81, 31 December 2022
As I was passing the window I glanced out and stopped in awe. In front of me the clouds were letting through the sun’s rays and it was spectacular. So my last post this year is a three frame panorama taken with the Sony Mavica MVC-FD81 floppy disk camera and stitched together with the smartphoneContinue reading “New Year’s Eve panorama with the Sony Mavica MVC-FD81, 31 December 2022”
An unusual #ShittyCameraChallenge sunrise with the Sony Mavica MVC-FD51, 07 December 2022
I’ve been using the ‘high specification’ Sony Mavica MVC-FD81 for much of the #1990sCameraChallenge, but I thought it might be nice to see a sunrise through its more basic sibling, the MVC-FD51. Like before, I held an ND filter over the lens to take off the glare of the rising sun. This time, though, instead ofContinue reading “An unusual #ShittyCameraChallenge sunrise with the Sony Mavica MVC-FD51, 07 December 2022”
A #ShittyCameraChallenge sunrise, 03 December 2022
After the file error on the first day of the #1990sCameraChallenge and sleeping through the sunrise yesterday, this morning I was determined to catch the sunrise before the rain returns. Taken with the Sony Mavica MVC-FD81. An ND4 filter was held over the lens to take off the glare of the rising sun.
Checking out the infrared capability of the Nikon Coolpix 990, 25 November 2022
I’ve been suffering from GAS again. This time it’s this unusual looking camera, the Nikon Coolpix 990 from 2000. I actually wanted the first of this range of cameras, the 900, for the #ShittyCameraChallenge #1990sCameraChallenge but I couldn’t find it. So this one will have to do (and I’m actually very happy with it). OfContinue reading “Checking out the infrared capability of the Nikon Coolpix 990, 25 November 2022”
Testing the Lomography DigitaLiza Max with images from the Lomo LC-A, 23 November 2022
On my first outing with the Lomo LC-A I used one of the expired (c. 2002) Konica VX100 films set at 50ASA. Although I obtained some images, the negatives were very thin, so I thought I would double check with a new and unexpired roll of XP2. I took a series of images with theContinue reading “Testing the Lomography DigitaLiza Max with images from the Lomo LC-A, 23 November 2022”
Out with the modded Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 for some digital infrared, 10 November 2022
It’s been a while since I have been able to take some digital infrared photographs, but this morning the weather was ideal.
Sunset at 140km/h, 8 November 2022
We were on our way home after a day in Porto on the high speed train, and I could not resist grabbing a few shots of the sunset.
Out with a shitty 8MP digital camera I picked up for 5€, 6 November 2022
After getting the little #shittydigital 2MP Vivitar camera from CEX for 1€ I came across another ‘generic’ digital camera on the website. I didn’t actually know what I would be getting, but I thought that for 5€ it’s worth taking the chance and it turned out it was a Fujifilm Finepix A800 from 2007. It’sContinue reading “Out with a shitty 8MP digital camera I picked up for 5€, 6 November 2022”
A walk around Águas Boas, 30 October 2022
After several dismal days, the sun came out. Whether this was because today the clocks went back, or that was just a coincidence, who knows? But the clouds were amazing.
Out with the 1€ #shittydigital camera, 26 October 2022
It’s #PolaroidWeek and I had one piece of Instax Monochrome loaded into my Polaroid 600. It seemed like a waste to go out and take just one photograph, so I thought I would take the little #shittydigital 2MP Vivitar camera I had picked up from CEX for 1€. The Vivitar 3695 is as simple asContinue reading “Out with the 1€ #shittydigital camera, 26 October 2022”
Urban infrared, 17 September 2022
It was such a lovely day to go out for some urban Infrared photography around Carris.
An ominous sign on the horizon, 27 August 2022
After a lovely start to the day, late in the afternoon the clouds rolled in and it turned cold. We decided to call it a day, and headed home. Typically, about two minutes before we arrived at our holiday flat the skies cleared again.
A trip through the woods, 23 August 2022
After weeks of cloudless skies, this morning we awoke to a sky full of wispy cirrus clouds. It was the perfect weather to take out the full spectrum Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ8 and the Urth 720nm Infrared filter, on our daily walk to the beach. http://keithdevereux.blogspot.com/2022/08/a-trip-through-woods-23-august-2022.html
