Time for some more abstracts in ice.
Digital infrared on a windy day, 01 April 2022
After a cloudy start it turned into a clear but windy day. Still, it was an opportunity to take out the DSLR and R72 filter for some infrared photography.

Water droplets on cabbages, 30 March 2022

Roadside flowers #CloseUp, 26 March 2022
Cabbage flowers from the side of the road. They were filled with bumble bees, but my poor little phone was not up to the task.

Some long overdue abstracts in ice.
Abstracts in ice, 25 March 2022
One thing I like about the small homemade ice cubes are the striations in the water. Makes for some lovely and different abstracts from the larger ‘industrial’ blocks of ice.

Lo-fi photography: microclick panoramas, 22 March 2022
Microclick panoramas are also known as Holgaramas as they have commonly been produced with the Holga plastic lens ‘toy’ cameras. Simply, the film advance of the Holga is manual, and each time it is turned it issues a little ‘click’. After taking a photograph, instead of winding on to the next frame another photograph canContinue reading “Lo-fi photography: microclick panoramas, 22 March 2022”
Pole-arity, 21 March 2022
Out with the Agfa Preisbox, loaded with Lomography Redscale film. The theme was Pole-arity, but it was an opportunity to take some digital shots too.
Ferns in the woods, 21 March 2022
Spring has arrived, and in the woods the ferns are sprouting new shoots.
#OldCameraChallenge, the Agfa Preisbox (Part 1)
The second camera in the #OldCameraChallenge is the Agfa Preisbox. I’ve been a bit slow in continuing with the challenge as current events, first the continuing pandemic and lately Putin’s unwarranted attack on Ukraine have been very demotivating. The Agfa 44 box camera, known as the Preisbox, was first introduced in 1933 and was madeContinue reading “#OldCameraChallenge, the Agfa Preisbox (Part 1)”
Infrared street photography in Águas Boas, 19 March 2022
It was a lovely sunny day again, so it was a chance to take the R72 IR filter to Águas Boas for some infrared urban photography. These images are taken from the JPGs rather than using the RAW files and were processed in SnapSeed. They came out rather well.
Poppy field, 19 March 2022
Out collecting lunch, I happened to stop next to this field filled with lovely spring flowers.
Experiments with Infrared, 18 March 2022
I’ve been wanting to dabble with infrared (IR) photography for a while. The last time was in the early 1980s, with Kodak’s famous infrared film, but that’s not been available for a long time. I bought a little Canon digital to turn into a full-spectrum camera (more about that soon) but in the meantime IContinue reading “Experiments with Infrared, 18 March 2022”
