For the past few days we have been on an enforced sabbatical from the Internet, brought on from the fact that thieves stole the telephone cables supplying broadband, TV and telephone to our house (and many other houses in the area).
Of course, this provided a grand opportunity to catch up (or re-watch) a load of DVDs from my collection. One of these was the reboot of Battlestar Galactica, which I enjoyed immensely.
Near the start of the film, about 14 minutes in, Laura Roslin is sitting in an office in Caprica City. Overhead are flying a variety of spaceships and one of these, coming in to land, is Serenity, from Joss Whedon’s ‘Firefly’.
Of course, I thought, it’s 2013 don’t tell me no one has never noticed this before, and sure enough it is like a rash on Google. Still, I was pleased that I still have my geek on…
